Nurses are primary health care professional working in collaboration with physicians to provide patients with care, education, and support. They are responsible for assessing patients’ health problems and needs, educating patients on their illness and condition, developing and implementing patient care plans, helping in rehabilitation, and providing emotional support to patients’ families.

1. Record and analyze patient medical histories, symptoms, and conditions

3. Create patient care plans with the help of other healthcare professionals
4. Document and communicate actions to maintain continuity among the nursing team
5. Comply with procedures, regulations, and rules in maintaining medical records

Qualifications and training required:

Bachelor of science degree in nursing (BSN) or an associate's degree in nursing (ADN). A BSN takes about four years to complete at a college or university. An ADN program at a community or junior college takes about two to three years. After finishing one of these programs you'll also have to pass an exam given by your local licensing board.
