Full time
Description
Adventum Tech is a deep-tech company specializing in smart structural health monitoring (SHM) and real-time wireless IoT systems for construction and infrastructure. Our solutions — including advanced vibration, load, settlement, tilt, and environmental sensors — enable smarter, safer, and more sustainable infrastructure management worldwide.
We are growing rapidly across North America, the Baltics, and the EU, and are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented, and innovation-driven Hardware Engineer to support sensor assembly, hardware prototyping, and R&D activities for our next-generation monitoring systems.
Requirements
The Hardware Engineer: Sensor Assembly & R&D will be responsible for assembling, testing, improving, and validating sensor hardware used in structural health and environmental monitoring.
This role involves hands-on work with sensor components, electronic assemblies, mechanical integration, calibration, prototyping, and product improvement. The engineer will work closely with the electronics, firmware, software, and field deployment teams to ensure Adventum Tech sensor systems are reliable, accurate, and ready for real-world infrastructure conditions.
Duties
1. Sensor Assembly & Hardware Integration
Assemble and integrate sensor systems for structural monitoring applications, including load, vibration, tilt, settlement, temperature, humidity, and environmental sensors.
Prepare sensor housings, cables, connectors, mounting components, and internal electronic assemblies.
Support the integration of PCB boards, microcontrollers, data loggers, batteries, antennas, and communication modules into final sensor units.
Follow assembly documentation, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and internal quality procedures.
Identify assembly issues and propose practical improvements for reliability, manufacturability, and ease of installation.
2. Testing, Calibration & Quality Control
Perform bench testing and functional validation of assembled sensor units.
Support sensor calibration and verification to ensure measurement accuracy, stability, and repeatability.
Conduct basic electrical checks, signal testing, battery testing, connectivity testing, and environmental reliability checks.
Document test results, calibration data, assembly deviations, and quality issues.
Troubleshoot hardware problems and assist in root-cause analysis together with the R&D and electronics teams.
3. R&D and Prototype Development
Participate in the development of new sensor prototypes and next-generation hardware solutions.
Support experiments with MEMS sensors, strain gauges, accelerometers, piezoelectric sensors, wireless modules, and power-management systems.
Build and modify prototypes for laboratory and field testing.
Research new materials, components, assembly methods, enclosures, connectors, and sensor integration techniques.
Contribute to product improvement, cost optimization, and transition from prototype to production-ready hardware.
4. Field Support & Product Improvement
Assist with preparation of sensor systems for field deployment on construction and infrastructure projects.
Support installation teams with hardware preparation, device configuration, and technical troubleshooting.
Analyze feedback from real-world deployments and suggest improvements to sensor design, assembly process, and product durability.
Help improve documentation, assembly instructions, testing procedures, and service guidelines.
Ensure Adventum Tech hardware systems meet high reliability standards for demanding field environments.
Proposal
Opportunity to work with cutting-edge sensor technologies for global infrastructure monitoring.
Hands-on experience in hardware development, sensor assembly, and applied R&D.
Dynamic, innovation-driven environment with international exposure.
Hybrid/remote work flexibility depending on project needs.
Competitive compensation and growth into R&D, hardware engineering, or product development leadership roles.
