Description
Adventum Tech is a deep-tech company specializing in smart structural health monitoring (SHM) and real-time wireless IoT systems for construction and infrastructure. Our solutions — including advanced vibration, load, settlement, and environmental sensors — enable smarter, safer, and more sustainable infrastructure management worldwide.
We are growing rapidly across North America, the Baltics, and the EU, and are looking for a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented Executive Assistant to support our leadership and business development operations.
Requirements
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for mechanical design, modeling, prototyping, and validation of hardware components for IoT-based structural and geotechnical monitoring systems.
This role focuses on mechanical integrity, manufacturability, assembly, and long-term durability of sensor devices operating in demanding environments such as concrete structures, underground installations, and outdoor infrastructure.
Duties
Key Responsibilities
1. Mechanical Design & Modeling
Design mechanical components and assemblies for sensors, enclosures, mounts, and installation interfaces.
Develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and/or FreeCAD.
Perform mechanical tolerance analysis and design for reliability and repeatability.
Support mechanical integration with electronic components, PCBs, batteries, and antennas.
2. Prototyping & Hardware Development
Develop functional prototypes using 3D printing (FDM, SLA) and rapid manufacturing techniques.
Select appropriate materials considering strength, temperature stability, corrosion resistance, and environmental exposure.
Iterate designs based on test results and field feedback.
3. Assembly & Manufacturing Support
Design components with DFM / DFA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) principles.
Prepare mechanical BOMs, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
Support transition from prototype to small-batch and mass production.
Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers for machining, molding, and enclosure production.
4. Testing & Validation
Participate in mechanical testing, including vibration, load, ingress protection, and environmental stress tests.
Evaluate mechanical performance under real construction and infrastructure conditions.
Identify failure modes and propose design improvements for long-term field deployment.
5. R&D and Product Innovation
Support development of new sensor concepts and mechanical architectures.
Explore innovative enclosure designs, mounting solutions, and modular hardware concepts.
Work closely with electronics and firmware engineers to optimize system-level performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Strong experience with SolidWorks and/or FreeCAD.
Hands-on experience with 3D printing and prototyping workflows.
Understanding of mechanical assemblies, tolerances, and material properties.
Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams (electronics, firmware, software).
Practical, problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Nice to Have
Experience with enclosures for electronics or industrial IoT devices.
Knowledge of IP-rated enclosure design (IP65–IP68).
Familiarity with vibration, fatigue, or structural mechanics.
Experience in construction, civil, or infrastructure-related products.
