Expanding into a new market is never just about geography. It’s about people, timing and vision. For us, that market is Latvia.

As I told Dienas Bizness recently:

“There are professional reasons to be here, but there are also personal reasons why we are expanding directly in Latvia — my roots are in Latvia, my family origins are from here, and personally for me it is like returning home.”

For 7 Knots Digital, this move is both a strategic decision and a personal milestone. Strategically, Latvia offers what every growing marketing agency looks for: a talented, bilingual workforce, a tech-savvy culture and a digital infrastructure that punches well above its weight. Personally, it’s where my family roots are, making this expansion feel like coming home.

The Road Here

When I founded 7 Knots Digital in New York City over five years ago, our mission was simple: help B2B companies, media organizations and technology brands turn their content into measurable results.

“We started operating in New York, and since then we have expanded to Canada, Toronto, and now to Riga, Latvia.”

We’ve grown by delivering audience development, lead generation, analytics, and campaign management that drive real business outcomes. Along the way, we’ve partnered with leading global brands and B2B publishers, expanded into Canada, and now into the heart of Europe.

Building Our European Team

Our plan is to hire eight to ten people in Riga over the next 6 -12 months in roles across:

• Digital marketing and campaign management
• Analytics and lead generation
• Content strategy and automation

We’re already making our first hires and exploring partnerships with local universities to develop internships and long-term talent pipelines.

The Support Behind the Move

This launch wouldn’t have happened without the team at the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA). We first connected at the Collision Conference in Toronto, and from there, LIAA guided us through every step of the process, from partner introductions to business registration.

“In less than 12 months, we already have a company registered in Latvia and the first employees. It’s all happened in a very short time and we’re really happy.”

My connection with LIAA started in Toronto at the Collision Conference, where I met Ilze Lācgalve. From there, her team connected us with the right partners, advisors, and resources to set up operations in Latvia quickly and effectively.

Looking Ahead

For our clients, this expansion means more capacity, faster execution, and the ability to operate seamlessly across time zones. For us, it’s about embedding in a market with enormous potential, helping put Latvia on the map for B2B marketing innovation.
