Duties
Primary Responsibilities
- Create and maintain accurate inventories of the chemicals, science, and Design Tech equipment.
- Maintain safe storage of all hazardous chemicals and equipment
- Ensure that science and DT equipment is in good working order
- Regularly checking safety equipment to ensure in good working order and accessibility during lessons (e.g. eyewash, fire extinguisher, blade
- protectors)
- Establish and maintain a protocol for regular review and checking of all potential safety hazards
- Establish and maintain a protocol for regular review and checking of all tools and equipment
- Ensure that ISL science and DT facilities are meeting the required standard for safety regulations of all governing bodies
- Prepare chemicals, materials, and equipment for lab and practical work for classes as requested by teachers.
- Test all equipment, chemical reactions, titrations, etc before they are given to teachers to use in a classroom setting.
- Clean and store all materials and equipment after use by classes.
- Support teachers during lessons as needed to facilitate safe and meaningful practical work.
- Ensure all digital and electronic equipment gets regular maintenance to maximize the working life of school resources.
- Prepare and maintain ‘stock’ concentrations of commonly used solutions (e.g. 2 Liters of 1M HCl and 1M NaOH should be on hand at all times)
- Coordinate with the facilities team to create and maintain safe practices (e.g. chemical disposal, cleaning, and disposal of broken equipment, etc)
- Use various saws and tools to prepare the wood and other materials for use in DT
- Create and maintain an inventory of materials, tools, and equipment for the science and DT lab
Proposal
- Monthly salary from 1125 EUR depending on the previous full-time experience
