The first floor is a huge warehouse with concrete floors and walls, exposed rebar, dull fluorescent lights mounted on the walls, and a low-hanging fog with no apparent source. Often the fog condenses into condensation, leaving puddles on the ground in erratic places. Unlike Level 0, this level has a steady supply of water and electricity, allowing wanderers to stay there indefinitely as long as the proper safety precautions are taken. With its staircases, elevators, solitary rooms, and halls, it is also much larger.
Any time, the fluorescent lights have the potential to flicker and go off for a few minutes or even hours. This can lead to the appearance of hostile entities. These beings tend to stay away from light and hardly ever attack in packs. The best course of action if the lights go out is to try to maneuver your way to a room while avoiding any weird noises. Be sure to bring a light source with you.
A Hallway That Leads To An Exit
Random supply crates appear and vanish throughout the level, frequently containing a mixture of essential items (food, Almond Water, batteries, tarps, weapons, clothing, and medical supplies) and absurd objects (assorted car parts, boxes of crayons, used syringes, partially burned paper, live mice, mice in a catatonic state that have been injected with unknown substances, shoelaces, loose change, bundles of human hair). The crates are a great resource, but they should be handled carefully owing to their contents.
On the walls and floors, there are also shabby paintings and drawings that have no obvious creator or meaning drift boss . When not in the direct line of sight or in an unlit area, they have a history of changing appearance and disappearing. When this happens, supplies may mysteriously disappear and hostile beings may suddenly appear. Level 1's light fixtures are prone to flickering and failing at unpredictable intervals. These beings tend to avoid small and significant crowds of people and rarely attack in groups. It is advised to have a dependable light sour on hand.
