Nintendo has arrived with gifts and party favors to celebrate the 35th anniversary of "Super Mario Bros. The developer surprised fans with a video announcement on Thursday morning, teasing a new Mario-starring battle royale game, the Switch release of many classic mario games, and a slew of 3D Mario remasters.
The most significant announcement is "Super Mario 3D All Stars," a pack that includes remastered versions of "Super Mario Sunshine," "Super Mario 64," and the original "Super Mario Galaxy" on the Switch. In addition to playing the games, Switch users will now have the option to listen to the soundtracks offline. Launching on September 18th, "Super Mario 3D All Stars" will remain available until March 31, 2021, as stated by Nintendo.
A new Mario-themed battle royale game, exclusive to digital platforms, has also been launched by Nintendo. Players face off against 35 other players in a "Super Mario Bros." setting. If you defeat an enemy in the level, their image will appear on the screens of other players. A lot like the Switch version of "Tetris 99" in terms of gameplay. The game will be available to play until March 31, 2021, after launching on October 1 for Nintendo Switch Online users.
Nintendo unveiled a slew of new items and tie-ins in addition to these Switch ports and remasters. Launching on November 13th, the new portable device Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros has a Mario-themed version of the Game & Watch minigame "Ball" as well as prior Mario titles. Plus, "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" will have Mario-themed furniture in March of 2019.
